After trying out Media Center 9.0.88 for 2 weeks, I'm quit thrilled. No bugs encountered (yet), except for one problem.
I have successfully been importing track data for about 20 CD's 2 weeks ago. Then later, whenever I insert a CD, I started getting the "Failed to connect to YADB server" message every time. I already reinstalled MC9 - no luck.
Any idea what could be wrong? Is there a setting that I missed?
(Even though I wouldn't know how that setting changed....)
Thanks, Steef.

Hi Steef,
Is this still happening? The server is up, and has been except for 15 minutes late saturday night.

Yes it's still happening
I have the problem for 2 weeks now. In the meantime I have installed - and de-installed - ZoneAlarm firewall. Today I even deleted all registry entries regarding ZoneAlarm. I have also re-installed MC9 - all to no avail.... It is also impossible to download plugins.
In another chain in this forum I ran into a "Problems with downloading plugins" page, this didn't help me much either. I am using a DSL modem / router, with a built-in firewall, for permanent connection to the internet.
Anybody with any other ideas, please? Thanks in advance!

Try gateley's suggestions in this thread:

Thanks for the tip.... I tried the hints in the other thread, and must come to the conclusion that there is something seriously wrong on my network setup!
ALL internet access, e-mail, etc is working fine, but as soon as I want to ping something (either yadb.com, or a PC in my network, or even my own PC's IP address!!!) I get an "error code 65". I will try to sort this out ( I hope....)

... Just for information (and may be someone else can learn from this 8)):
My problem of not being able to connect to YADB and other servers was caused by an incomplete de-install of ZoneAlarm software. (For experts: the "TrueVector" part of it was still running and apparently blocking out some parts of the internet). After I disabled the automatic startup of TrueVector, everything now works fine.
So now I can continue my testing of MC9. Still looks great! An ideal tool for keeping my music well organized.
JRiver can look forward to my registration.....
Thanks for anybody who helped me.

Thanks. This explains why sometimes ZoneAlarm must be completely removed instead of just disabled...
Glad you got it working.
