Not sure if this is a bug, or a lack of general knowledge on my part...

If I say yes, the screen goes black and the frame counter displays. The .wmv file is saved correctly (except for a pixel-wide noise line in the top line of the the display, like so.....)

If I say no, MC then tells me this....

Anyone got any ideas about this?
I figure there must be a setting in the TV card driver, the graphics drivers, MC itself, or maybe a combo of them all.
What to look for and where to find it is where I begin to falter ;) ?

Hi Marko,
Both error messages are from my code. They are displayed when DirectShow returns an unspecified (generic) error code. The error most likely comes from the driver.
The only thing that I can think of right now is to update your TV card driver, if you have not already done so.
What TV card do you have? And what is the version of the driver?
Other users of the same type of card may have more ideas to help you.
Regarding the little noise line on top of the recorded video, do you see something similar while not recording (just watching TV)? Have you tried checking "TV Options"->"Edge Cropping" from right-click menu?

Evening Yaobing, thnx for the support.....

1st thing I did. Using these WDM whql drivers from hauppauge....

I have a Hauppauge WinTV 2000 PCI card. They have a "product info" tool on their website, here are the results it gives me....

There's no noise line visible under normal viewing (windowed or full screen) and using Edge Cropping doesn't fix things.

Hope the extra info helps someone to help me:)
Reckon it would be worth trying an older driver?

older drivers didn't help:(
