Title: MJ9 Ripping

I'm about 2/3 through ripping an audio CD and the burner's speed seems to start fading to nearly a halt.  

Any ideas?

It's probable that the drive is encountering some type of error or other problem reading that section of the disc.  This would especially happen if you have the ripping mode set to Digital Secure.  Basically, when the drive encounters an error it re-reads the sector until it gets a good read.
