Is there a way (even if it is a hack) way to backup smartlists?
My carefully designed smartlists are one of my major reasons for not testing the latests betas.

Sorry that I don't have an answer, but I will bump this because it's a really good question.
-
Would be a nice thing to keep them more than a day (til the next update...). Really no possibility?

I just reformatted my HD and reinstalled everything last weekend, and I tried to keep all my settings (and smartlists) by backing up the files that had changed in the MJ folder since I last installed it (I just viewed details and backed up anything that had been accessed by the program).
As it turns out, I didn't manage to keep my smartlists- but I found it was easier the second time around to recreate them- the problem I had was remembering them....

I will soon format my whole mp3 collection and try to remember my songs. This is more space efficient and easier to manage. ;)
Seriously, where are these things kept? In the library? In the registery? Some weird ini file? There should be some hack to take a backup?

My smartlists are stored in the file playlistx.jmd of the selected library folder together with the default smartlists. If you do a backup of the selected library, they will be in the zipped backup file.
Restoring the whole library should also restore the smartlists!
Not for sure - but give it a try! Or you may copy back only the playlistx.jmd file, if you do not want to restore the whole library!

Thanx, will try it.
