Title: Media Editor - decoded file location
Post by: garden22 on August 19, 2003, 07:59:20 pm
MJ 8 is installed on my C drive, which has little free space.  A second hard drive (F) has lots of space.

I'm trying to use Media Editor to edit a large file stored on F.  In MJ's Settings - Options - File Naming & Location I have set each option to refer to F, not to C.  When I decode (File - Open) the file in Media Editor, I expect the editor to store the resulting file on F, but it stores it on C.  So I run out of disk space and the process crashes.

Is there some additional setting I can tweak to control the location of the file that results from decoding in Media Editor?

It may rely on the temp dir specified by the system (in my case...c:\temp). Do you have your apps installed on c:? Clean out your c: drive (such as your temp dir and the directory specified by IE...which is a dir called Temporary Internet Files). This may give you the room you need.
