Title: Submitting track/CD info to YADB
Post by: Tangoman on January 05, 2003, 08:09:43 am
Hi All

A point of information, Whats the difference between uploading CD info or Track info to yabd?
If just the track info is up loaded and someone else put in a CD is the CD updated locally??

Also how long before the uploaded info is available to everybody else?

I have uploaded about 40 CD's in the last 2 weeks over 100 to go.
Typing is a pain in the you know what
Cheers Tangodude

When You Submit A CD It Is Based On The CD TOS (# Tracks On CD, Size Of Each Track, Order Of Tracks) And A TOS Is Generated

When You Submit A Track It Is Based On The Media File Data. The Media File Is Scanned And Based On That Data it Is Submited.

Should Be Like 1 Second

Hi Tangodude,

The track info and the CD info are currently not related  (as KingSparta said).

If you have a CD that is not found, and you think it should be, post a quick message here noting the exact time, your IP address if you know it, and the CD.

Updates are visible immediately

Thanks for the typing.

Gateley i think you need to re word this.

>> There are now 48502 individual tracks in the
>> database

>> There are now 609735 CDs in the database

I would think individual tracks should be higher than # of CD's

Hi KingSparta,

THe wording is correct - remember the two databases are unrelated, and the individual track database is a lot newer (and built completely from scratch).

Mouseman - just remember the stats page is only updated every hour, so you won't be able to find out how many right away.

Gateley, the problem is that the Page does not tell you that they are the Digitaly ID'd Files.

So when someone looks at the page they will see only the small number of files listed. thinking that YADB only Has 48502 Total files in the database for CD's also.

Hi King,

What would be clearer?

There are now x digitally fingerprinted tracks in the database?

Other suggestions?

Is there A Way To Get The Number Of Songs That Have Been Submited? And Then Show The Fingerprinted Number. Like You Said Above.

You And I know What Your Talking About But Most Users Would Not, And I Would Not Want Them To Think There Is oNly 48,000 Songs In The Database.
