Hi everyone,
http://www.nomadworld.com/
Yes folks, I am lucky enough to own one of these (Nomad Jukebox 3) beasties with a 40Gb Hard Disk ... then again, I don't have children or a house. :)
My question for JimH and all the crew at JRiver relates to the plug-in for "Nomad" devices. Let me start by saying that I LOVE Media Center (even though I have my grumbles about the licensing mechanisms, but that's off topic). I'm an MC9 beta user (build 88 from the about dialog), and would love to use the plug-in ... only it has an annoying "feature" with the NJB3.
It seems that when transferring songs to the NJB3, MC9 and the plug-in set the song name to the file name ... not very useful if you have spent hours setting your ID3 information (or in this case, WMA information) up just the way you like it. Whilst all of the tags are set correctly, I prefer the file names to be set up as [TRACK #] - [NAME] for easy navigation in the file system.
Is there any chance that JRiver could update the NJB plug-in to overcome this annoying "feature" on the NJB3 please?
FTTB, I'm stuck using what we Nomaders call Creative's "PlagueCenter" (PlayCenter) and doubling up on library management. I use MC to manage my main library, but I have to use this horrible Creative software to transfer files to my Jukebox. I would love to use MC exclusively, but this one (relatively minor, but important to me) feature is standing in the way. Oh please, great JRiver developers, be gracious to us ... :)
Keep up the good work guys, and seriously ... please try and make the licensing easier ... what about an expiring annual license for $19.95 per year instead of a perpetual license? Let's face it, that's what you're trying to achieve isn't it ... residual income? All those in favour of a "subscription" license that does away with this darn expiring beta - restore trouble - what version - what price - nonsense, say "Aye" ....!
(Sorry, couldn't resist)
Cheers,
Matt

No, I busk on the street and sleep under cardboard ... but it's worth it! ;D
You can earn good money breakdancing on your cardboard with an NJB3 and a small pair of speakers.
Now, I need to go take a shower ...
Cheers,
Matt
