Title: Can we have Replay Gain when Converting?

Discussions about Replay Gain vs. Normalization all suggest Replay Gain is the superior method for adjusting playback volume, as it is based on more than just the Peak Value.

However, the iPod doesn't make use of the Replay Gain field... and I don't know that any other MP3 players do, either.

Can Replay Gain be made available during a Convert Format?

If the user could choose between Replay Gain, Normalization and No Adjustment, just about any need could be met.

I could be wrong on this, but wasn't this the kind of thing that MC's new playback engine was designed for? So we could have the ability to convert on the fly with the various DSP settings, etc? So shouldn't you be able to do everything during a convert or device upload that you can do with CD burning? So I could even have crossfaded playback on a portable mp3 player?

This can be addressed but is not trivial. It will take some time.
