hello:
i've been using media centre for a week or two now, and it's been wonderful for transfering files to my windows ipod, renaming files and tracks, and everything else.
i was uninstalling old and unused programs the other day when i noticed that i had "media jukebox" and "media centre" installed as programs. it said that i hadn't used "media jukebox" for some amount of time that seemed to correspond with when i switched to the 9.0xx beta, so i uninstalled it and left "media centre."
that must have been a bad idea ;), because now i can't play anything, and though i've reinstalled it twice, i'm left with this.
"There was an error starting playback.
Make sure that your system has a valid sound playback device and that it is properly configured in Media Jukebox's playback options.
(double check the output mode, output device, and output bitdepth)."
as far as i can tell, none of those settings are wrong.
here's my system info, in case it is relevant:

When you uninstalled, did you remove the registry settings? If not, try that. And delete the program folder for MJ.
-
won't i then lose my library files and playlists? maybe i could save the files elsewhere and put them back in the folder after i reinstall?
-
i'm sorry if this makes me a fool, but i've never had to ** around with my registry before, and i don't know how to do what was suggested of me.
can somebody please express more clearly how i might go about making media center actually work again after my unfortunate experiences uninstalling one of the dual entries in "add/remove programs?"
thank you.
