Title: PocketPC Plug-In not Working with 9

I am trying to install my plug-in for my pocket pc.  I saw a similar post to this but without any reply - has anyone had success with the plug in.

I am running:
MC 9.0.84
PocketPC 2002 (Compac iPaq)

I actually don't see any errors - i go to the plug-in web page, download and install the plug in and all is well.

However, when i go to the "CD, DVD, & Handhelds" node in the tree i don't get my PocketPC - also if i go to the plug in manager i don't see the plug in installed under the "handhelds" category...

Can you search for the files rapi.h and rapi.lib on your PCs. If you have them, could you email them to me at steve @ jriver.com so I can troubleshoot this. If you do not, be sure to install the ActiveSync files from Microsoft for your CE device.

I don't see either of those files on my computer - where should i look

and - i do have the latest version of ActiveSync on my PC...

I did however find files called:

MPRAPI.LIB

and

MPRAPI.H

and

SVRAPI.H

Can you both try getting MC 9.0.85 and then remove and redownload the PDA Plug-in. If you do not see "Windows CE" in the tree, go to your regsitry and check that the following path exists..

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JRiver\Music Exchange\1.0\Media Jukebox\Plugins\Handheld\Windows CE

and let me know what you find.

I tried the re-install - there still is no node in the tree for the WindowsCE stuff neither in the tree or the Plug-in dialog.

I also checked the key you suggested - it does exist - i could e-mail it to you if needed.

Could you try manually deleting the Widows CE key in

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JRiver\Music Exchange\1.0\Media Jukebox\Plugins\Handheld\Windows CE

and then redownload the Plug-in and see if it reappears?

Still nothing - but after i re-install the key will re-appear as it should.

In the Local_Machine key for Windows CE, do you have values for CLSID, IID and EIID? Also what value to you have for iVersion (it should be 5)?

Can you point me to a link that you used to get ActiveSync? I think this is where the problem is and I want to try to test with exactly what you have installed.

Also, what Operating System do you have?

tried removing then installing plugin no luck, found 2 registry entries, one for pocket pc another for windows ce. Deleting them both.

That is the Active Sync URL - I am specifically running 3.6 [build 2148]

(Missed the OS)

I am running windows xp sp1. I have an audiovox(toshiba) Maestro pocketpc 2002.

Everyone,

Later today there will be a new build of MJ 9 (v 9.0.87). Please get this version and redownload the Plug-in and hopefully everything will be better.

I get and error with .87 - The second i try to play with pictures (slide show) working i get a CTD (crash to desktop)

However - good news - both the PocketPC fix and the Image with and Height bug are fixed....

I have installed Mc (9.0.87) to try to get MC to recognize my pocket pc that has a flash storage card attached. Good news, it recognizes my pocket pc and storage card. Bad news, I can't upload directly to my storage card. I can only load to the pocketpc itself and then have to cut and paste the file to the storage card on my device. This results in only being able to upload a few files at a time. I also get an error message when the upload is complete saying the upload failed, but it uploaded properly. Going from mp3 to mp3 format at 128k with normalization enabled. Has anyone found a way to load directly to a storage card or is that even planed? Ipaq 3650 with 256M flash card on board. ::)

I expand the windowsce first until I get to the storage card folder then I drag and drop directly to the storage card folder.
