I am not sure how this happened but I now have 750+
MP3 files that are only 128 bytes long.
I suspect but cannot confirm that it happened when I did a "get cover art". The one thing these files have in common is that they where last modified Nov 24th at 12:16 -> 12:25 AM and have a image file set to unknown.jpg. I am not sure what version of MC 9 it was but going by the date stamp on the various MC files downloaded it would be MediaJukebox90082.exe
There are 375+ other files that were also modified during this time slot but they are okay. They all have legit cover art files - none are unknown.jpg.
They show in the MC database as 128 bytes and Windows Explorer as 1k.
Anyone else having this problem ?
-
I use it all the time, i however do not save coverart inside the mp3, i have it set to keep them as external cover art.
-
I also save images external to the MP3.
Perhaps this is a problem with the convert process ?
-
I have had this exact problem. Happily I was able to recover them via Norton. I do save the art externally as well. I have also seen that in a group of files, only a few will be in essence deleted via wiping them into a 1k file. Although in MJ they still show the original file size, though they of course do not play.
-
Okay, so it just happenned again right now. I Highlighted ten files (Jeff Beck, Truth), clicked on tools, get art from internet, standard, save externally, it found the art and I got the Information Box "Failed to update the following files:" and 8 of the 10 files are shown. The artwork is showing on the right and the files sizes are still showing their original size. But--those 8 files have been changed to 1k. Again yay for Norton Unerase Wizard...

So I'm not going crazy !!!
I haven't had a re-occurence but I haven't been trying to recreate. I am running 9.0.87 now. What version of MC 9 are you using - ::)help system info - copy to clipboard and paste.

We've never been able to reproduce this.
Any other clues / tips you might have would be very welcome.
Thanks for your help.

I just looked at my 15,000 currently loaded into MC and i have been geting coverart for (all are external) and i do not see any problems.
-
I think my problem happened when MC 9 locked up getting the coverart and the coverart process was terminated by using cancel or the task manager.

This reminds me of a problem I had with MJ 8 back in June (see thread here (http://www.musicex.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=general;action=display;num=1024188660;start=0)). In that case, the problem seemed to be due to the ID3 tags. I don't know if that may be part of the problem here... but it might be something to look at.
