When I right click on a file and select "Lookup track info on YADB," I get this error message: "THIS FEATURE IS CURRENTLY DISABLED -- CHECK BACK IN A FEW BUILDS. (reference code c,t,i)"
Advice?
Thx.
P.s. I have yet to get any advice as to why I cant rip with MC.
P.p.s. CD Labeler still does not work. (Some .dll file not found . . .)

>> "Lookup track info on YADB," I get this error

your runing an older beta, 9.0.85 works

I installed 9.0.85. Although I no longer get the error mssg that YADB lookup is unavailable, YADB is unable to find any information from the (50 or so common) file tags I've submitted.
Also, during installationI got an error message: "in_cda.dll could not be found" and "package failed to install."
I AM STILL UNABLE TO RIP CDS. The message: "Cannot create CD Ripping control."

Currently, the individual track lookup only has 30,000 tracks. You can add the tracks you have that are well tagged to increase this number.
Thanks,

I have been ripping my 500+ CD collection like a madman for the past week or so without any problems with v9, so it does work. YADB has had about 90% of my CDs on file. Strangely, the some of the missing ones are highly mainstream, Beatles White Album, Elton John GH II, Bon Jovi Live One Wild Night. However, it has found many of the more obsure stuff. Go figure!

Look foward to contributing to the db.
Is JRiver ultimately going to seek a copyright for the YADB compilation? FYI, there is a colorable argument that this compilation of data (like CDDB) lacks sufficient originality to be afforded proprietary copyright protection. (E.g., a white pages phone book cannot be protected by copyright).

I agree. I don't think we could copyright it. We don't have any plans to try. We may make it open to other developers once we think we're on top of it.

Hi Jorge,
DC_Roller was talking about the individual track lookup, not the whole CD lookup feature.
I know the White Album (Beatles) works, it is one of the ones I own. I have fixed a few bugs affecting lookups since YADB started, and you may have tried before a bug fix.

Then if YADB is working properly, right clicking on "Revolution No. 9" from The White Album (if one has that song in MC) and selecting "Update tags from YADB" will ostensibly update and revise incorrect data, is this correct?
For instance, if my Revolution No. 9 file is tagged (incorrectly) as coming from Sgt. Peppers, a YADB lookup will change and correct the album field in the file's properties?
(Sorry for the dumbassery).
-
Yes it should. Wait for the next build though, Matt was muttering something about bugs this morning.

Thanks John! I tried The White Album again, but it only found Disc 2. Disc 1 comes up Failed Not Found. Maybe the problem is that I have the 30 Anniversary Limited Edition. I went ahead and submitted it myself, so it should work in the future.
-
The 30th anniversary probably caused the problem. Thanks for adding it.

Thanks. i'll it a shot (after i uninstall to see if i can get the ripping function to work)
