I am a newbie to MJ, and just downloaded MJ 9.0.84. I am having trouble setting up my old mp3 player (rio500). I burn all of my cd's as wav files, but want to also be able to download those songs/files to my mp3 player, without changing their original wav format on my hard drive. Is this possible? Thanks.

the mp3 player does not play WAV files so why try?

After you install the plug-in for the Rio 500 you should see an entry in "CD, DVD, & Handhelds". You can now "send" your wav files to the device. When you've collected the files you want to upload, select the "Rio 500" entry "CD, DVD, & Handhelds", press "Options" then check "Force file conversion..." and select the encoding options. Upload.

I have tried to do this, but when I try to send the files, I get a Transfer Cancelled message "song.wav file type not supported by the device"
Any other ideas?
-
Hmmm. Need a little clarification on exactly when you get the message...
When you right click on a track in the library and select "Send To...", "CD, DVD & Handhelds", then "Rio 500"?
Or when you press the "Upload button" after clicking on the "Rio 500" entry in the tree?

It happens when I right click on the track in the library and select "Send To...", "CD, DVD & Handhelds", then "Rio 500". I can't get it to the point of forcing a file conversion. Thanks.
-
Well, I don't actually have Rio500 I can try it with so it's beyond me at this point.
If you repost with a title like "Rio500: Can't Force File Conversion" or something similar, SteveG from J River will probably pick up on it on Monday or another Rio500 owner might chip in.

Thanks for the recommendation. I re-posted under "Rio500 Can't Force FIle Conversion"

How do you burn more than 80 min on one cdr. I have software from my Sony MP3
-
Maybe you mean that you want to burn an MP3 CD? That's a "Data CD" and not an "Audio CD".
