when trying to rip and encode a cd to mp3 using the mp3 or mp3 vbr codecs, clicking on the "Advanced" tab simply brings up a selection of High, Medium, or Low. This seems a little redundant, 'cause there's already a "Quality" tab...
I think i remember this "Advanced" allowing us to enter command line switches in v8 -- kinda like clicking on the advanced tab does in v9 for the mp3+ codec.
Is this a bug or a change in UI/feature set?

i rember playing with that, and when i selected High, high the bit rate went up a few notches.
I think if you use "High" it is better than using Low

Yeah... i played with the settings a little too. It'd still prefer the ability to use preset switches (e.g. -alt, -r3mix, etc.) It gives you a lot more control.

This last release fixed the problem with not being able to specify command line switches when you use "Custom" and press the "Advanced" button.

Oh really!? It didn't fix it on my installation...are you sure? Also, for another bug...select Ogg and try Custom then Advanced button...geeez.

Just tried both MP3 and OGG. With Custom in the drop down, when you press "Advanced" you get a dialog asking for a command line. The default for mp3 is "--alt-preset fast standard" for ogg it's "-q 4.99"
I set my own for mp3 and it's working fine.
