Title: iPod file loading issues
Post by: mhonard on November 20, 2002, 02:52:37 pm
I am loading audio books where the first 7 or so characters are the track number followed by the total number of tracks followed by the aduio book name.  For example "1/60-Hobbit".  Media jukebook sees the next audio book as duplicates up to track 60.  Other than renaming all my audio books what do you suggest.

We'd like to get this right, so please keep reminding us about the problem.

You might find a work-around in the options for properties.  MJ can rename files from properties and vice versa.  You can also set the track order to be whatever view you've established.

Actually after further investigation it turns out MJ is seeing the track numbers as duplicates.  I get a duplicate file alert.  I found by closing the option box everythign proceeds OK.  But why woudl duplicate tack numbers be considered duplicate files.  You could have thousands of duplicate track number ID's

Another wierd thing is no matter what I do track 32 is seen as a duplicate.  Further more although the ID tag is 32 it sees it as 0.  Help I don't want to go back to musicmatch I much prefer MJ.

Turns out this is not and iPOD issue. The ID tag problem occurs when I import the tracks frommy hard drive to MJ.  The ID tags were create with program called MP3 Book Helper.  I haven't had any problems with these tags before.

Hey there, mhonard,

The iPod plugin's still officially in beta too.  Here's the current thread on it:

It's looking pretty good thus far, but I'm not positive that audible support is in it yet.  Definately mention that to Steve!  ;)
