Title: Media Jukebox 9.0.79
Post by: Matt on November 18, 2002, 01:12:35 pm
Media Jukebox 9.0.79 beta is available.

IMPORTANT-- This is beta software -- some things don't work, some things crash, and your database and tags may not be totally safe.

If you're sure you want to continue, you can download the preview here:

ftp://ftp.jriver.com/pub/downloads/music/MediaJukebox90079.exe

Changes:

1. Fixed: After hiding and showing Hairstyle, it would no longer do a good job of keeping the keyboard focus.
2. Fixed: Using the Track Info "Playlist" page is much faster.
3. Changed: File's thumbnail now deleted when it is deleted from the DB.
4. Fixed: File property sheets would load / save extra times when creating views.
5. Changed: Playlist selection property sheet now remembers expansion / scroll state of the tree.
6. Changed: Playlist selection tree uses better playlist group icons.
7. Fixed: Right-clicking to add a playlist could add it under the wrong item in some cases.
8. Changed: Improved tree searching logic. (searches everything visible, so won't get locked under certain items)
9. Fixed: Standard cd-rom drives were getting recognized as burners.
10. Fixed: MJ did not always recognize the end of an erasing process with CD/RW disks.
11. Fixed: CD-text was sometimes written even if de-selected in options.

Only report new bugs this build -- we still have a lot of bugs from last build to address.

Thanks for your help, support, and patience.

This build is broken. Tree view is all messed up. I'll reboot and see what happens.

EDIT: Same thing on 2 computers.

When Selecting the Properties window and clicking on the playlists in the property window, MJ crashes, when restarting MJ then, MJ crashes again. So cannot run MJ anymore

Cannot print system properties because MJ won't run.

Using Windows XP SP1

Delete your database and then restore from your last backup. You should be able to run MJ again.

Incert CD
YADB Puts In The Track Info
Highlight Track On CD
MJ Crash

If You Select Forward >> and go to the track you want to play and Press Play The Song Plays.

But don't ever highlight a track on the CD, MJ Crash Every Time

Tree view is all messed up.

It only seems to be messed up in no-mega-skin mode. It works as expected when in the Z skin. It doesn't seem to be re-drawing correctly and ends up looking like this (after expanding and closing some tree items) when not skinned:

ditto with having the playlists page selected in the properties window rendering mj useless.  I tried deleting and restoring an old library, but the result is the same.

removing my database doesn't help a thing, still MJ doesn't want to start up as long as the properties window is open.

Is there a way to disable it before opening MJ ?
Maybe in the registry or an ini file ?

It is a 9.0.78 bug, I don't know if it exists in 9.0.79 but since 9.0.78 thread is locked...

Yesterday night I exited MJ 9.0.78. This morning I run it again and I lost most of my settings :

Then I reseted my setting about skin and id3 but not about columns and I exited MJ.

Then I run MJ and my column setting came back !!!

Great progress, but two things still requested:
1. "Volume Name" as separate column. (not included in filename)

2. Advanced cross-fading: change cross-fade time during playback without stopping playback, best directly on the main-interface of MJ (above Player) like in BPM Studio. Why don't you just use the same interface as BPM Studio? I think it's the most intuitive interface around, just two lines showing fading time & speed, moreover fade-in &-out are independent of each other.

Thanks
Raist

Am getting error

Error signature
AppName; media jukebox.exe Appver 9.0.78.0  ModName unknown  ModVer 0.0.0.0  Offset; 01266ccc

As of now I am without any Media Jukebox & am going mad with the silence >:(

Any ideas ?

Don't know if this has anything to do with the problem, but just after installing 9079 my HP scanner software no longer worked & had to be re-installed.  It was working fine just before installing MJ 9079.

Version 9.0.79 crashed on first install in Windows XP, will not open at all. Uninstalled and tried to reinstall 9.0.78 & now it won't run either. Would be happy if 9.0.78 would run again, how do I find the files that 9.0.79 placed in XP so I can delete them & reinstall 9.0.78 again, Ive looked everywhere but mabe I'm just not looking in the right places. Can anyone help with this?   ?
