Hi,
I really miss CDDB because I still find the CDs in CDDB, but not in YADB. In 8.0, the option to choose is very good, but moving into 9.0, I believe the licensing has created alot of issue.
But, I don't mind using YADB, and typing my CDs to rip, as I'm in steady state now. But I find that the YADB submission is very buggy, and it is not stable. This will mean creating many CD records that have wrong information. This will definitely create problems for myself and others.
The bug is that when I submit a CD, half of the titles are not recorded in the database, and what is worse, the titles are all wrongly stored.
After submission, and updating the CD from YADB, all the entries are wrong.
Next: I really hope that we can interoperate between 8.0 and 9.0. This will be fantastic.

Had the same problem today. Look up Rob Zombie - Hellbilly Deluxe and you'll see what I mean. Tried to do this several times, so I suppose there are multiple bad entries now.
-
I have reported on this same exact problem twice before & it's still there.
I had lost all my albums with hard drive crash (yes, I had backups but not for the music files due to the 6 Gig size) so I am ripping all my music again (I now have another 80 Gig drive for ALL backups).
Also most of the new albums I had previously submitted to CDDB do not show up in YADB so I have to manually re-inter all the information again.

Patience, Doc. We're still chasing bugs. We'll get it right.

Hi Jim;
Does that mean that that any new album that I entered into CDDB will also show up in YADB? If so, wonderful.

Assuming you have a cdbb \MJ user name and password, here is a solution.
Back to 8.Relog to cdbb.
Now set MJ to Yadb, look if you get the infos.
If not,set to cdbb.
When you get the infos, set to YADB and upload the infos to YADB.
Try Yadb first for not making double entrys.
Reading it ,it may look a lot of mess to deal with, but in fact it is fast and easy to do.
Anyway much faster than type infos for x cds.
You may had see that sometimes i say that i checked x cds with YADB and that i uploaded x of them.
I do not type.I do not know how to type.I use one finger and a half, so no way i would upload cds to YADB.
First i do as i just said.If i see any mistake in the cdbb infos ,i correct it.Faster than to type all the infos.
If not on YADB or cdbb,i put the cd in a corner. When i will have few of them,i will try with a player using FreeDB and putting the infos in 'cdplayer.ini'.
After that ,just put the cd in MJ and upload infos to YADB.
It would have be much better if they had started to use
YADB later,when in better shape...
But look like cdbb wanted the money right now

Hi Jim,
Many update on the YADB submission bug. Is it fixed yet?
-
That was fixed a few days after you reported it.

Hi Jim,
Thanks for the quick reply.
I've tried with some of my newer CDs, and it works like a charm with YADB.
Congrads to MJ again for a job well done.
:D
