I am trying to convert some files to vdb and it keeps tring to install then crashing mj9.
-
Can you try one more install? Then verify that you can rip a track to MP3.
Conversion from other formats may not yet work but that's a separate problem from the encoder plugin install problem.
-
nope wont work it keeps crashing mj I can't rip a cd or convert files with mp3 any thing vbr or cbr just wma. What happens is it will install the mp3 plug says it is installed. From inside mj change from wma to mp3 to rip a cd and it tries to download the encoder then mj crashes. Tried the same thing with the convert and it too crashed mj.

I just tested this. With 9.0.75, the mp3 encoder downloads and installs fine. Converting a file from ape does not work. We know about that problem and it is a different one from the install problem. It should be fixed shortly.
But ripping a track from a CD and encoding it to mp3 vbr does work.
-
Well I cant even get mp3 encoder installed much less rip using it. It will install but then crash mj so I can't even try to rip using mp3 VBR
-
i just tryed every encoder on the encoder page 4:02 EST they all downloaded fine for me.

Listening to: 'Copacabana' from 'Greatest Hits' by 'Barry Manilow' on Media Jukebox
that I Just riped from the MP3 VBR encoder.
maybe you should first UnInstall the encoders and then re-download them.
-
I am proud for ya wish I could get mine to work and yes I did try again.
-
Did you uninstall the encoder, then install?
the next thing i would think is uninstall MJ and reinstall.
must be something screwed up on your system or in the dirs.
-
Well I have tried it on 2 different systems and it doesnt work on either one. I have complete uninstalled vs 9 on both systems and then cleaned the registry using regedit doing the find r. river r river and rriver and deleted each key and I still can't not get mp3 installed I cant rip nor can I convert this is very frustrading and I am on vacation and want to get some things done on my music collection.

Strange.

WW,
Try the version of MJ9 that was posted at about 6:00 PM EST today. A lot of bugs were fixed in this area.
