Title: Library upgrade
Post by: rar2667 on January 01, 2003, 04:27:22 pm
Can anyone help me...?
I installed MC9 to a different directory to check it out and see if I wanted to purchase. I pointed it to MJ8 library and it gave me an upgrade warning. I chose No thinking I should make a copy first.

Then I couldn't launch MJ8 (runtime error), so I uninstalled MC9 and launched MJ8. This time it told me MJ8 was not installed properly for this user, so I reinstalled MJ8. Now MJ8 says license file is too new...have I corrupted my library file? I have been a bad boy and haven't backed up recently.

Any help?...thanks.

Download and install 8.0.393 from our downloads page.  It should find and restore the backup that 9.0 made.

Progress update...
I copied the current library files and let MC9 upgrade them and all looks ok (except having to re-create view schemes).

Now, if I want to stick with MJ8...can I downgrade the MC9 library to MJ8 version?

Thanks for the reply JimH...

I did reinstall build 393 and the only library file it listed to restore was "Remove Existing Library Files"...which it did...MJ8 is now empty.
