Title: upgrading from MJ8: cannot display the covers
Post by: michel on November 04, 2002, 09:10:57 am
I imported files with cover art (tagged by MJ8) but I am not able to see the covers with MJ9.

My covers are "inside the file", I can see them with MJ8. It is the same problem with mp3 or ogg.

MJ9 dumps that for an ogg file:

Bitrate: 121 Kbps
Frequency: 44100 Hz
Channels: 2
Tag: (10 fields -- 11963 data bytes)
  COVERARTMIME: image/jpeg
  COVERART: <too large to display>

TITLE: New York Mining Disaster 1941
  ARTIST: Bee Gees
  ALBUM: Bee Gees Story
  COMMENT: compil
  GENRE: Rock
  DATE: 1967
  TRACKNUMBER: 1
  MJMETADATA: <too large to display>

But I cannot display the cover. What I am doing wrong ?

Try clearing and reimporting your library.  This works in some cases although for a lot of mine I had to re add the cover art :(

I am not ready to do it (I re-tried to reimport my files: no more success).

i don't think the upgrade from 8 is working correctly (IMHO)

why not uninstall what you have and make sure the j river folder is gone and then install MJ9.

then import.

Note i have noticed some weard things in MJ9 if the cover art is inside the mp3 sometimes it does not show. thats why i have it setup for external cover art and it seems to work fine that way.

I made it previously but I cannot see my custom (MJ8) fields so I tried upgrading.
