Hi ...
I am new to MJ (v8) ... for what I've seen its great.
In fact, I am new to "being serious" about ripping my whole CD collection to mp3.. so first I want to fully understand how everything works.
In the help pages , under Replay Gain it says:
"Media Jukebox analyzes the file and stores the information in the database. The file itself is not changed"
But Ive seen some posts thay say that the information is stored in the ID3v2 tags... So actually the file IS changed. What it's not changed is the audio content, right?
So where is the RG info stored ?
a) MJ Database
b) Tags. If so , does MJ use the RVAD frame or some user defined frames?
Why can't I see RG information on a file's properties?
Is there anyway I can see the RG info on a track that its not playing?
c) both MJ database and tags.

Sooooo ... I check and look into upgrading to MJ9 ... and in spite of my registration being good for the upgrade, I find MJ9 is simply much more than I want (... geeez ... digital camera images too?! ...)
My response (my vote) is to continue with MJ8 in this regard (... i.e., all music development included in MJ9 should be in MJ8 as well ... of course, that's just my opinion as a user ...<g>...)
