Hello,
Am I dumb or is it normal that I cannot change from YADB to CDDB with the latest MJ9 alpha ?
YADB is really a poor database for now... I have a lot of CDs to rip YADB cannot find and CDDB can...
Thanks in advance for your help !
P.S: Latest realease has a lot less bug than the former one (ye ye, of course, that's the target, I know guys ;-) The funny thing is that all the bugs I wrote have been solved... So I'll find new ones :-)
Cheers

YADB has more than 600,000 CD's. If you don't find yours, please consider adding them.
-
Sorry, but that is not an answer to my question.
And 600'000 cd's is NOTHING ! CDDB has a lot more than that. A lot. I know these guys turned commercial, but anyway, giving the choice between both was good. Then if neither YATB nor CDDB has the CD, I enter it to both.
So now could you (or somebody who knows it) give me a real answer, or reason, please.
Thanks in advance

Yanni,
That's my final answer. We're going forward with YADB. We have control of the source now, so it will continue to improve.

1. Easy CD Creator Does Not USe CDDB
2. Microsoft Media Player Does Not Use CDDB
And Many More Don't Use CDDB
If You Would Like To Use CDDB You Can Use An Older Version Of MJ Or Find A Product That Does Support It.
You Can Find Other Software That Supports CDDB At ftp://WWW.CDDB.Com
MJ Will not be using CDDB In The Newer Versions Of MJ It Will Be Using YADB.
Thanks

Musicmatch also dropped support for CDDB about 4 months ago.

If anyone wants to blame anyone they should Blame the source GraceNote CDDB.
They are diging there own hole

It's funny the way you answer... I just asked:
"Am I dumb or is it normal that I cannot change from YADB to CDDB with the latest MJ9 alpha ?"
So an answer would be : "Sorry but we are not using it anymore, because it's commercial now and we do not want to pay for that, so it's normal you cannot find it"
>:(
And I would have answered back:
"OK, thanks you very much. I'll use YADB for now then :-)"
But OK, finally I have an answer then.... So thanks !

Well Thats Not Why It Is Money and stability.
Before It Was $10,000 For J River To Provide Support For CDDB, Now It Is $60,000 For The Same Support. When Have You Ever Received A 600% Pay Increase?
YADB Has as many CD's listed as other databases out there being used by other major Jukeboxes.

It was commercial before but they just raised their price 600%. The main problem for us was stability.
-
WOW. That is definitely more than an answer ! Thanks guys. Now I understand and agree with you point of view 100%
I guess, in short terms, RIP CDDB
Take care
