Title: Will MJ ever support MMJB custom tags?
Post by: Markeau on September 22, 2002, 12:24:18 pm
(Copied from the other forum):

Will MJ v9 or any future version ever include support for the MusicMatch JukeBox custom tags (ie, Preference, Tempo, Mood, Situation, etc)?  I'm getting to a point where I will probably need to choose between MMJB and MJ.  I need to keep the MMJB custom tags ... but I like MJ for things like the LAME codec and moving tracks to new folders/subfolders.

On that subject, it'd be keen if the id3v2 "composer" tag could be part of MJ's "extended" tag section -- my iPod allows browsing by composers, but to edit them I have to use another program like Dr. Tag or Id3tagit.

Yes, version 9 will support any database / tag fields.  And we will make an automatic way to create the Music Match fields if you want them.

Hopefully within a few weeks...

OH MAN THAT IS SOOO COOOOL!!!  ;D

That means I, and I'm sure many others, can finally be rid of MMJB.  Now I hope that not only will those custom MMJB fields be supported but they will also contain the same elements (ie, dropdowns) that MMJB has - that would let us to continue categorizing using the same methodology.  8)
