Title: Subtitles?
Post by: Marty3d on September 22, 2002, 03:57:40 am
Hi!
Last night I was going to watch a Divx movie, and since it was in chinese and I definitvely can't understand a word of it, I was using subtitles (.srt).
I mostly use WMP for movies, but since it doesn't display subtitles, I was forced to use some other program. Then I thought to myself, 'Hey, maybe MJ could be my favourite video player?'. But after a short checking I didn't find any option to play videos with subtitles.

So...is this something to be implemented in MJ9? That could be EXTREMELY useful! Then I know I will quit using WMP :)

Of course, there will be some formats to be considered, the subtitle scene seems as split as the DVD burner manufacturers...

You can usually get this by going to the movie's menu and language options.

JimH, I think you misunderstood...I was playing a DIVX movie, not a DVD...:)

For an example on how this works...check out one of the players that handle subtitles:
