I personally don't know of any sites that has 320kb...most seems to be 128.

WebListen.com just started burning new song at 192
EMusic.com is planning on increasing there bit rate

I wouldn't mind knowing if there is a site that has 320 mp3 ;D

P.S. A bit off topic...(besides weblisten and emusic) Is there any othere good mp3 sites out there ?

I wouldn't call weblisten a good site...more of a pain in the *** ;D but they do have a nice selection

Emusic has swithced to a VBR and sounds good. Much better than 128.

AllofMP3.com offers up to 384 KBPS (most players won't play 384) and charges by the Megabyte. It may or may not be legit. It's in Russia. They claim to pay the artists but you can't be sure.

I think www.[web site removed].com is currently the global leader in on-line music sales. It is also the only site that has the type of product that actually has long term appeal.

AllofMP3 certainly has the most logical sales model --- pay for what you get. "Most logical" probably means that US companies will never adopt it.

So true... So true... :(

btw, I haven't checked [web site removed] for a while, but is it still $.01 /meg?

Yes up to MP3 384 kb or equivalent. Their library of lossless is continuing to grow but that is $0.02 / MB.

The RealPlayer Music Store offers 192Kbps RealAudio 10 AAC files.

$0.02/MB for lossless at Allofmp3?  That comes to around $7.50 for a full album.  This isn't a bad price, but if I was going to pay that much for a music download, I want to be *very* sure that the band is getting paid.

I've haven't been very enthusiastic about online music sales.  Until someone offers lossless (for everything), then I won't be participating.  I have looked at [web site removed], but it seems that nothing I would be interested in downloading is available in a lossless format, and there is the lingering doubt about legality (and fairness to the artists)...

Ive never used any online music store, but heres a new one I heard about available in the UK: bignoisemusic (http://www.bignoisemusic.com). I dont think the encoding (WMA) or DRM is any better than the average, but it is sponsored by Oxfam, which is a charity that does lots of good things. Looking at prices, personally for anything other than the odd track Id probably just buy the CD, but prices seem on a par with other download sites, and its 'in a good cause'. If you dont want to buy, perhaps make a donation.

Question:

If You Download A WMA Music File

1) Can You Move THe License To Another Computer

2) If You Can...Where Do You Find The License

Reason I Ask..i Download To Puter 1..But All The Files Eventually Sit On Puter 2...
Thanks

you don't move the license...once you move the files try and play it...it will ask for user name and password...then it will connect to the internet to verify...

...at least that's how they do it with my audible files
