Looking good!!

You might want to change the back color of the search bar to light yellow.

Any way to reduce the size of the Play buttons? and is there a way to make the search bar longer?

The play-buttons will be smaller in the next version.

I currently don't know a way to make the search bar longer  :'(

Not bad!  Looking forward to its completion.

It makes me long for a 9.1 port of Amped and Doreen's TV.  :D

I like it - especially the blue toolbar buttons.

Some of the fields in Detailed Info don't show up - they just appear as black boxes.

To me all fields in Fields to show, appear as black boxes.

Keep up the good work. It's will be a nice skin when everything is done.

Looking good. Nice work DJ.

Thanks for your work on this. I'm now torn between this and Tomy00's mediaone skin :D

Any plans to update the bottom info bar to match the playing info area?

I just have some comments:

  • The blue colors does not match with the gray background you use for the skin
  • Use a gray color for the toolbar inactive blend
  • selected background for the tree and list view would be better if you used a gray or white color for it

    nice skin..:)

Thanks for your comments.

I've just changed some color-definitions  :D

All changes will be included in the next beta.

I actually prefer the blue highlighted colour that you had on previous betas.

It added some colour contrast.  Which do you prefer?

Guess you can't please everyone all the time ::)

OK.

I've tried a mix between the different suggestions:

ToMy00:  Within the list-area the blue color has gone. I think you are right. It looks better.

Sauzee:  I like the blue tool-buttons too. And i think i will leave them in the skin.

So long  ;)

I like blue too - my favorite color.  But it just doesn't look right in this skin.  It's out of place and I think Tomy's right.  I think the color 'A7A7A7' looks better.

Really nice skin though - impressive for your first go.

Great skin!!!!  Has been exactly what I've been looking for as a dark skin.  Thanks a ton!!!

Few things:

1.  My column header text (Genre, Artist, Album, etc) is white.  White on gray doesn't work too well...

2.  <search here> is same as above

3.  The bar in playing now and TV tuner, the one with the arrows for the visualization and track info selection, is same as above.  White on gray.

4.  The buttons in the lower left corner under the AW look grayed out.  I think you should give them the colors that they have when you mouse over them, i.e. their original colors.  Just a thought...

5.  Check any pop-up options window.  It's all white text on gray background.

Keep up the good work!!!!

This is not something that skinners have control over.  It's the same in all skins.  I've commented on it many times.  There are some interesting new features in build 241 for skinners and I'm hoping that this is one of them.

I have used your Skin since the first day and now also the mini-skin, even if I prefer Mega.

This is I of my two favorites. So keep on.

Maybe I would prefer a little brighter background. It's pich darkness and well black is black and maybe that's the way you wan't it.

Have you changed it to little more grey? At least I think so when I look at the Screenshot? But 'cos I'm not at my home pc, so maybe that's way it looks a little bit different. Still it's nice.

Take care

I think DJ_Hazelwood is now seeing that you can't please everyone...  ;P

DJ, thanks for making the color changes with the text!!!  It looks great now!

However, the change for the background now makes my background look like my monitors' Brightness is turned up too far.  i.e. the background of the library and
AW does NOT match the background of the tree. What's the setting in the skins file for this and I will customize it for me?  I liked the fact that the background was dark, since I have a dark desktop.

Keep up the good work!  Thanks for listening!

I had a small bug in the skins-file of Beta7   :-[

The background should be dark. I've corrected it for the next version.

If you want to change it: Back="343434" (not "343434F" as i had in my last version).  :D

There's no line breaking problems here as in Lyrics!

Hi!

I will do some modifications on Mega/Mini/Trackinfo.

Maybe i'll find a better way to show the large text-fields (comment/notes/lyrics).

Because i'm not in my home-office this week, i don't have the possibilities to upload new files. I will do that next weekend.

I'd have to agree here.  Although somewhat subjective, I find the white too bright and stark. Unless you really prefer the white, I'd also like it toned down a bit.

DJ,

I'm so impressed with the latest track info, excellent stuff. All I'd suggest would be to move the info box a bit to the right to allow the cover art to be bigger.

You've just about got MC looking the way I always wanted it!

Hi DJ
Just noticed that the lyrics are not properly shwn with page breaks on your template.
Also, the text in the Action Window, while in 'File Properties -> Detailed Info' you cannot read the text until you mouse-over and get the pop-up . . .  is that a bug?

I love the package, keeps getting better and the track info template adds alot.  Overall it has a nice look and feel.  :-)

Any way to add an Artist Bio button on the main view to access the King's artist bio field in my tags?

Hi

Are you using the latest versions of the package?

In some previous NightLife-Betas there was a wrong color-definition which made the file-properties unreadable.

There was a problem with the lyrics-display too. But this is fixed in the current version.

The bios-display will be in the next version   ;)

Is it possible for the info not to reset to "main" everytime the currently playing track changes?

If it's possible, can we have it, please.

I would prefer if I click "audio" for example, it stays there till I click something else.

I would prefer this too.

But if MC switches to the next title, it generates the info based on the 'index.html'. And this is the 'main'-info.

If i can find a way you will get it within one of the next versions.

I think the only way to get something like that would be to add links with
target="blank"
so that these pages would be opened in a new (external) browser window... you can then watch these windows until you close them while the TrackInfo in MC follows the NowPlaying tracks...

EDIT: You have to use javascript to hand over the values to the external HTML... I made a quick example you can build on ;)

I've tried it and found out the following:

If i go to mini-me and change the option to 'Always on top' it doesn't work. But if i go back to mega-me and then switch again to mini-me, it works  ?

I've tested it with other mini-me skins too, and it was the same.

Works for me too. Strange. ?

Hi!

Within the first post you can find the latest NightLife-updates.

For a list of changes see change-history (first post).

I also have added a link to some toolbar-icons.

I hope you like the new version  ::)

I just had a quick glance, but I must say I didn't understand too much. I'll try when I'm not so tired.

DJ_Hazelwood, you should be really proud of this skin. It's an awesome package.
One of the reasons I like it so much is that it's crisp, clean, and looks really good without drawing focus away from the stuff contained within it (our files).
The trackinfo template is as sweet as a sweet thing now it's not resetting, and to cap it all off, toolbar icons too!!! A "first" in MC skinning.

Thank you very much indeed.  8)

Listening to: 'My Immortal' from 'Fallen' by 'Evanescence' on Media Center 9.1

Due to some design-changes they had to go   :(

But if you like them you can download it here and replace the corresponding gif-files:

Rounded buttons for Mega-skin (http://www.haslinger-edv.at/ftp/NightLifeRoundedButtons_Mega.zip)

Rounded buttons for Mini-skin (http://www.haslinger-edv.at/ftp/NightLifeRoundedButtons_Mini.zip)

Rounded buttons for Trackinfo (http://www.haslinger-edv.at/ftp/NightLifeRoundedButtons_Trackinfo.zip)

;)

Hi DJ,
Thanks for all your work with the skins, THey are really good.

Now that I buttered you up...

Is there a way to change the track Info Template to match the color of the Opus skin?
I really like the Track Info but kinda looks funny with the Opus skin.

Thanks,

Hi!

I will try to provide a template that can be modified very easy to fit other skins.
Just give me some time to prepare it.

So long ...    ;)

First version of the new track-info-template is online.
