It can be downloaded from the MJ plugins page here:
http://www.musicex.com/cgi-bin/downloads/plugins.pl?type=10&start=0&;end=10&page=1
Here's whats new/fixed:
1) Added on demand loading of MJ track info ... major loading speed improvement.
2) Added icon image size and options dialog link to right-click menu.
3) Added ability to show/hide the toolbars for those wanting to use MC/MJ on a TV.
4) Added code to paste the hotkey text into the current window.
5) Added option to move "The" from the beginning of an album name to the end.
6) Added Alt+Ctrl+F9 & Alt+Ctrl+F10 as hotkeys.
7) Added option to backup the AV database prior to any changes.
8) Fixed popup mouse painting issues.
9) Various performance improvements.

Install fails on MC 9.0.92 - Error dialog "MJREader": Failed to connect to a server.
This happens with MC9 running and not running.
-
Hi,
Can you be a bit more specific as to when this error appears.
When you click on the J River website to download AV MC/J is invoked to do the actual download. Then when the file is downloaded the AV install .EXE is invoked to perform the installation.
I suspect .92 is broken and it can't do the DL as I just tried .89 here and it worked ok.
Also do other plugins install ok?
UPDATE:
I just read this from Matt on the MC9 .92 thread ...
MP3 tag problems / pulled build
Just when I thought we were rounding the hump, Nikolay changed all the internet and file reading stuff today. Then he had to take off early before he finished. I guess I broke everything patching his new stuff in.
Maybe the internet stuff he changed affected the plugin downloading facility?

Hi
I have been out of things for a while, change of job (again)!!
Just to say the latest versions work really sweetly with MJ8, still solid as a rock. Living with Album View on a daily basis has become a way of life.
One feature you might consider is extending the configurability of the size of images in tile view. My album titles are always too long to be read easliy in icon view, tile view images with the text at the side are great but tiles are tiles are small.
A leap too far maybe, but would it be possible to rename albums in the same way we can update genre? This would be a real neat enhancement.
Great work - keep it up.

Hi Ilmar,
Long time no hear!

That shouldn't be too difficult ... I'll look at it this weekend.

Hmm ... I'm not sure if I want to go there tbh as it gives people the opportunity to really screw up their MJ/C database. I'll have a think about that one.
Great work - keep it up.
Ilmar
Thank you.

BUG - The new ability to hide the toolbar.
The toolbar sometimes appears hidden when I first start MJ even if I then right click and go through the menu, the toolbar is set to be visible but is not. I have to disable it then turn it on again to make it appear.
-
What does it say in the options screen?
-
It says the toolbar is enabled.
This usually happens when opening MJ for the first time and going to AV.
-
Nila,
Going back to an old issue you reported re the tile view sample not appearing in the options screen ... do you have MJ skinning enabled?
If so switch it off and try it.
-
Rhino - Tried it and it fixed the problem :)
-
Cool ... that's another skinning issue to let MJ know about.
-
It says the toolbar is enabled.
This usually happens when opening MJ for the first time and going to AV.
Nila,
I cannot reproduce this at all and I have tried on 3 different machines. Is it still happening?
-
Well I think I have found and fixed this issue.
Look for it in 2.0.4.1 which should be next week sometime.
-
Cool Cool :)
I'll keep my eyes open.
Always love updates to my fav. plugin.
-
You're going to love this update ... I'm implementing tabbed grouping.
When you select/search for something it will group the data by the current sort key. I'll post a screenshot tonight to give you an idea of how cool it looks.
-
As promised here's a screenshot.
This shows the new grouping option with (optional) counts and user definable tile image size. Also this is using the iTunes XP theme.

That looks pretty crazy. It should be fun to play with.
I take it your like me then, once you start doing something you just get hooked on it and do loads on it even if you dont have to, just because you enjoy it?
I do that with websites, I add soo many crazy features just because I want to test myself and learn new stuff and I think they could be cool or fun. I guess it makes me a bit of a computer geek but I enjoy it so I dont care :).
I can see this being quite a powerful tool once I get the hang of it. :)
Oh yeah, and one thing, This is going to be optional to group though right? I think it could be really useful at times but sometimes I do just want a big list of everything to browse through :)
-
That looks really nice
-
Yes it's optional.
I am hoping to have it done by Monday so you can play with it then.
-
Love the look of the grouping. Is the gouping user definable, by say genre or artist?
Monday can't come soon enough. Great work!

Grouping is intelligently done on the sort field.
For alphabetic fields, e.g. album name, it will group by however many characters you specify (default 1).
For numeric fields it, e.g. the year, it groups numerically.
For Yes/No fields, e.g. favourite, it groups by Yes/No.
In all cases the * group shows you everything.
As you drill down, e.g. via the search bar, the groups dynamically change to reflect your new selection.
-
WoW - That is a NICE feature.
I always wanted that added to MJ so that the tree's would automatically drill down to only show information that matched the search criteria.
That would mean that I could totally use a a few tree's to show varied info.
Like I would have been able to use Artist/Album and then just typed in y=2002 for the search criteria to view recent albums, or y=200 to view all albums from this decade.
Right now I instead have to create a tree view: year/artist/album.
That's a GREAT feature. I LOVE mj :)
-
Also this is using the iTunes XP theme.
Excuse my ignorance but where can I get this iTunes theme? Is it for MJ/MC or WinXP ?
Thanks,
Mark
-
It's an XP theme and is available from www.themexp.org
You will have to install the UXTheme Utl from http://www.tgtsoft.com/download.asp (slightly complicated to install) or buy StyleXP (very easy to install) from the same people in order to use different styles.
-
I haven't used style XP in ages but I just re-installed it and updated it and it's got some really nice themes these days :)
My system looks all perty now :)
