Title: Stupid question about skin
Post by: Sadashiv1 on November 04, 2002, 10:40:43 am
I heard so much about skin but don't understand it
clearly, so please bear with me.
My naive understanding is that skins are the visuals
played along with the song. My questions:

1. Am I correct in my undrestanding?
2. How does one write a skin?
3. Can I display lyrics rolling up as part of song playing.
If so, how and what I need to do?
My lyrics may not be in Enlish. Can I make an image
file and use it as skin.

What you are talking about is not a skin but a track info template.  If you click on the development link above (interact - Developers Zone) there are instructions for how to make these...

Hope this helps...

A skin is something that changes how the player appears. If you go to Tools -> Skin Manager, you can see some examples of different skins, both for mini-me and MEGA-ME.

What you're describing is called a visualization. I have no idea how you write one, but you can use MJ's built in Visualization Studio to build one from visualization components that are included with MJ.

A Track Info template is a little different. While it CAN display a visualization, generally they just present information about the currently playing track. Like Artist, Album, Title, plus lyrics and the album cover.
