Title: Can I build a plugin with Flash MX?

Does anyone have experience making an .exe with Flash MX that can successfully pass commands to MC?  My vision is to make a full-screen super-pretty playback interface, like Hairstyle, but much different, to use at parties at my house.

I've read bits and pieces out there on how Flash can send VB commands... just wondering if anyone here has used it?
