Title: Track Info template - what's allowed?
Post by: Galley on June 16, 2002, 04:38:03 pm
I have just finished creating a track info template based on a template called "Tutti Frutti" that I will be using on my site very soon.
Question 1:
The template has a footer bar.  Is it OK, (or ethical) to link back to my site?  Can I put "copyright 2002 Stuff You Gotta Have" on the footer bar?  If not, then I will replace the link with the name of the template, "Frutti Tutti".
Question 2:  Since I am an XP user, I have the cover image linked to the "Folder.jpg" image inside the album's folder in "My Music".  Is that OK, or should I change it to fetch MJ's image, and give the user instructions on how to change the path to use the images in XP?
If you would like to preview my site's template, here it is. [URL]http://www.stuffyougottahave.com/Tutti_Frutti.html
The template I have created is similar.  There is one box for the track info, and one for the cover image.  That's it; nothing fancy.

Cool, what I will do is to create two versions, and let the user install whichever suits them best.

Galley,

As Mouseman said, you can do a lot of things, almost everything.

Just make sure that the language is not offensive and graphics are not too reviling Next Page

I did not see any of the two things mentioned above in your template.

And the copyright message is fine, and should be there because it's your work.

My templates are up.  The first one you see is called "Tutti Frutti for Windows XP users", the other is just "Tutti Frutti".  I hope users don't get confused as to which one to use as the name of the template does not appear anywhere in the listing!

Galley,

I modified your track info templates so they install correctly.

Do not use sub-folders should be used only if you want so store some additional info, index.html must be in the root level.

BTW: Thanks for the templates, looking forward to see other cool templates from you.

Regards,
Nikolay

i think this "Do not use sub-folders should be used only if you want so store some additional info, index.html must be in the root level." is a good idea to write on the plugin add page

Yeah, I was having problems with my zip programs.  Normally, I just select a folder and zip it, but for some reason, when unzipped the folder didn't appear, just  the files.  I use Power Archiver 6 (free version), and I also have zipping with PowerDesk 5 Pro and System Suite 4.  Any suggestions?
