This is massively bad.
I just tried adding a song to "Playing Now" and it says
"Media Center was unable to play any of the files in the playlist.
Please make sure that the path in Media Library points to the right location.
Also double check to make sure that you are not unintentionally filtering these files."
Like I said in a prior message, this has been working fine for months, but I just got a "you're not licensed" message and relicensed the PC... so, don't make me re-do my entire collection of over 1200 songs... :'(

With this and with your license loss, it sounds like maybe your registry has somehow gotten corrupted. <shrug>

I pray it isn't so. Does MC keep a file that is the library? Where would I find it? Maybe I can just point back at that...?

reboot
see if that helps.
make sure all drives work in windows explorer.
did you move the files or rename them with another program?
if so you need to tell MC9 where they are. so you will need to re-import them and use the option to remove missing files under library maint.

That just caused me to not be able to reboot the PC, plus my friends called and said there was a malicious worm attacking their PC from my PC's last known IP address.
Just kiddin'.

Well, actually, ahem, it's like this... I kinda renamed a certain folder and when I renamed it back to the original, lo' and behold my music is back and functioning properly.
heh. ;D
So, it wasn't Media Center 9's fault! Wait a minute. No, wait a minute. MC9 should be able to see what happened and restore it by itself!!!! :)
Peace out!!!

You could have also searched all drives and MC would have found them.

well, i'm going to try something so I can rename that folder like i want it. where in the options/preferences is that path specification to be found?

Library Tools. Select a set of files and pick your poison. Backup Library first would be a good thing.
