Title: What settings are sent to LAME?

I've posted this question at the iPodLounge in the MC9 forum, but nobody knows the answer.

When using MP3 VBR, you have five Quality choices: Low, Normal/Low, Normal, Normal/High and High (and Custom, but that's different). You have three additional Advanced choices: Normal, High Quality and High Speed. This gives 15 combinations. What is sent to the LAME encoder in the various combinations?


I ask this because I've been reading up on the LAME command-line options (available here) (http://lame.sourceforge.net/USAGE) and I'm starting to use Custom settings. I'd like to compare my parameters with what you are sending to LAME.
