Title: Usability of view names
Post by: gpvillamil on October 16, 2003, 06:09:13 pm
Here's something I've noticed when showing MC to friends: the names of the views eg. Mega-Me, Mini-Me, Hairstyle are very, very confusing - especially "Hairstyle".

How about renaming them:

Mega-Me => Full Mode
Mini-Me => Compact Mode
Hairstyle => TV Mode, or Jukebox Mode (in fact, everyone assumed that "Party Mode" referred to "Hairstyle")

And while you're at it, a one key toggle between Hairstyle and Fullscreen - pressing ctrl-W rotates through Mega-Me as well. The new Track Info from C.ustom O.n D.emand is a perfect complement to Hairstyle, and I want to be able to flip back & forth between that and Hairstyle.

The menu key on your keyboard does this. (VK_APPS)

Where is the "Menu" key? Do you mean the Windows key, or the one that brings up a context menu?

I run Media Center on a laptop that does not have these keys.
