Is it possible to setup MC9 GUI to run without skin  ?

No. MC only works skinned.

If you don't like the look of skins... try out this one called Windows (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?board=5;action=display;threadid=15333). It looks and feels just like plain old windows (2000 or older...that is).
