I just did an auto upgrade to the latest version and the old "default" skin is gone. I did not do anything. I want the old 9.1 skin, not the new skins.
I don't see an option to use "no skin's" or am I over looking it?
thanks

Select The PixOs Skin In The Skin Manager That Is The Old One

I too want to know how to "NOT USE A SKIN". I don't use the Windows XP Luna look, and would really like Media Center to look like the rest of my windows apps. This used to be an option in Media Jukebox. Did they kill it?

Lord, What would you look like with out skin?
With The Newer Versions Of MC9 You are now forever in the land of the skined there is no turning back.
You must make a choice at the fork in the road should you go left or should you go right.

Thanks for the quick response!
My only hang-up is that most (if not all) of the skins are poorly designed. Sure, they "look" cool, but they stink to navigate, and make it hard to see or read. Also, I like consistency to a point.
Oh well. I guess I went left, but I'll conform :(

some changes were made in the 9.1 skins and that left skin land kind of blan.
I preFer PixOs But would really like the moo Skin back

Have you gone to the "3rd party" board?

There are a number of skins in there that might suit your fancy...

I reccomend the MediaOne skin (http://sharemation.com/tomy00/MC_Skinning/MediaOne/MOne_b6.mjp) for an easy-on-the-eyes skin. It's very nice.

You want "no skins"....
The answer is to do a search for windoze. knickelfarz (sp?) has made some skins for users such as yourself that give the impression that there isn't a skin. They're really very good skins and when last I looked, there were 4 colour schemes to choose from.

The problem with Windows is (when I last looked) it made my WinXP pro system look like Windows 95.

I have not found a skin I like either. I wish I had the programing skills to create some. I appreciate the time and effort it must take to do these things.
Now that the layout of 9.1 is stable, maybe J River (or others) will go back and update some of the popular skins from the past. I use to use Tekno and Optimal. Some of those watercolor ones were nice too. However, I find the dark skins hard to read.

I've played around with skins. At least modifying them doesn't seem to take too much programming skills. Just some reading, experiementing and photoshopping.
If you were to photoshop together something, you might be able to modify an existing skin to suit?
Have you tried the metal skins? I find them to be a nice compromise between dark and light.
