Does anyone know if MC9 will for sure record from a USB audio device, like the Xitel INport http://www.xitel.com/product_inport.htm ?

It will. I have an SB extigy which is connected via USB. My stereo is connected to the Line In (on the extigy) and I can record from any sources connected to the stereo this way.
Install your d/a converter.
In MC, in the recording dialog, select Line In.
That's It. Have fun!
Note: While MC will record from external souces, there are other apps that have more features to modify the recordings such as; click & scratch and hiss removal, EQ and other sound EFX. A couple of them are: MAGIX AudioCleaningLab, Voyetra-Turtle Beach Audio Surgeon. There are others.
I have a HUGE LP collect which I am converting, and for me (I have Magix AcLab) these apps are invaluable.
First of all they give a graphical representation of the audio file afterwhich you can manipulate to your hearts'(ears) content. Once done, you simply import them to your media folders and then into MC where you can convert to whatever format you desire.
