<pulled by Matt because of problems -- check back tomorrow>
History
1. Changed: Playback display menu restructured to be more concise.
2. Changed: Updated "Configure Display..." dialog -- added resolution selection and removed obsolete "enlarge menus".
3. Changed: Updated Action Window tools menu to be more logical.
4. Changed: Option dialog makes all pages start from the top. (instead of centering vertically)
5. NEW: Added "Image Playback..." and "DVD Playback..." setting pages to Options -> Playback.
6. Fixed: Duplicate removal would remove first items instead of tail items.
7. Fixed: AAC Bitrate and Duration info.
8. Changed: Updated MJP installer system to XML based system. (still works with old MJP scripts)
9. Fixed: Shell extensions "Play" wouldn't replace playing now when starting MC. (it shouldn't replace if MC is already running)

Note that the Options > Playback > DVD Playback... button won't work until the next build.

Just by chance, I noticed that during the installation of .287, one of the progress messages said Installing plug-in '', i.e. there was nothing between the two single quotes. It was, I believe, the first plug in that gets installed (MJ DSP(?)). After the install, when I tried to play anything, I get the "Media Center has experienced errors ..." message. I stopped/restarted MC, all to no avail.
I reinstalled .286 and playback functionality has returned to normal.

I cannot get this build to maximize...the bottom half of the window maximises...the top half stays small...I had MC set as a non maximized window before bt on each reinstall now it forgets its size/placement and resets to a 640 480 window in the middle of my screen. I thought I would maximize it and noticed then. I am running a dock program so prefer it not to be full screen...

unable to play music. hmmm....
-
I got the same playback error the mrsnarky did. I also got "Cannot create plugin for Portable Drive" when clicking on my handheld in the tree. After that, it crashed.
I was also forced to reboot Windows to complete the install, which I never had before.
Thanks

For the above reasons I also went back to .286 but before I noticed that External and APE plug-ins encoders were gone and almost all of my input plug-ins.
With .286 everything went back to normal behaivior.
-
This build won't read ID Tags either. All my MP3s are listed under "unassigned."
-
Confirming above reports: This build doesn't work. Plugins aren't installed. I went back to 286 and its all systems go.
-
Take this one down quick.
Can't play any music.

Is there a 9.1.288 tonight?
Or should we back-step to 9.1.286??
-
An issue with 286 build - I can't get AAC files to import using Tools->Import Media. I can get them to import if I bring up My Computer and right click to select MC9 import on the directory structure where the files are.

Deinstalled 287 as it was buggy (playback not working) and tried to reinstall 282. Now I get the following error: "Failed to load product info file"
Does this mean I need a new license?
How can I reinstall MC9 properly?
