Title: x10 Mouse Plug-In Won't Install
Post by: msnell on October 22, 2003, 11:03:42 pm
I just tried to install the new x10 Mouse Plug-In for MC 9.1.279. It seemed to be downloading OK, but at the end of the download it gave me a popup error message.

This is what is read:

Failed to install package.

More Info: Failed to register object.
C:\Program Files\J River\Media Center\Plugins\rc_X10Mouse.dll
URL: http://www.musicex.com/mediacenter/mc_data/plugins/rc_x10mouse.zip

I get this same error message on both of my PC's at home. One is running version 9.1.274 and the other is at 9.1.279.

Any suggestions or acknowledge of a bug would be appreciated...Thanks.

BTW...Despite this minor problem I am having, I have to say that MJ and now MC is probably the most innovative jukebox product on the market - and I've tried them all. Keep up the great work!!!!

Yeah it's true, somethings wrong. I tried to download different files but MC just returns an error message: Invalid package file?

A new version went up today and it does install properly, but the remote doesn't work with it. I restarted Windows, started the plug-in, and configured the correct COM port. When I press the PC button on the remote and use the mapped keys I get a response from the indicator light on the receiver, but no response from MC.

Is there something else or some other piece of software I need? I have tried this on 2 PC's. One has the MaX10 software and the other does not.

Help?

Did you go into the remote control options and go through the "learning" process for your remote?

Thank you so much. I didn't know there were any settings there or that you could customize the buttons. It works great!!!

The Help button for the plug-in set up claimes the buttons were pre-assigned. That didn't seem to work.
