Title: Downloading skin fails

every time i try to download a Skin the Download starts but at the end i get the Message:failed to load skin "unknown".Reverting to default skin.
It would be verry nice if someone could help me with My Problem.
Please write it with simple Words Because My English isn´t so Good.

And what version of Media Center are you using?

Some older skins don't work with the latest versions.

OK, so I'm having the same problem with trying to install skins.
I'm using the latest version just downloaded this morning.  I have Uninstalled and reinstalled MC 3 times with the same results.
I'm downloading the skins through the MC UI and I have attempted to download from the website http://www.musicex.com/cgi-bin/downloads/list.pl?featured=1.
It was said in an earlier post that some skins do not install with the newer version of MC. Therefore I attempted to download any or all skins for mega-me and none installed. I did however have luck installing skins for Mini-me.
Anyway, it's certainly not a matter of life or death, but it would be nice to know what is or is not going on.  ::)
Any feedback would be appreciated.

BTW, I'm running MC 9.1.289 on Windows XP Sp1 if that helps.

Check the "Third Party..." board here for a few skins that will work with 9.1.

Im Working with 9.1.243 and win XP.
I´m using the skin Manager and than Download More Skins.
I onl tried to load Mega skins.
I Think it would help me ,if someone could  tell me wich Skin Is Running with my version of MC.

Hallo Jochen,

9.1.243 ist eine schon etwas angestaubte Beta von MC. Es gibt drei Versionen der "Mega-Me" Skins: 1.0 für MJ8 und MC9, 2.0 für MC9.1 bis Version 9.1.244 sowie die aktuelle 3.0 für MC9.1 ab Version .245.
Die Skins auf den offiziellen Downloadseiten entsprechen der Version 1.0, bis eine neue Seite für 9.1 Skins bereitgestellt wird, kann es noch etwas dauern...

Die im Board "Third Party Plug-ins, Programs, and Skins" angebotenen Skins, die während der Betaphase von MC9.1 entwickelt wurden, sind inzwischen für die Version 3.0 angepasst worden. Du kannst diese Skins verwenden, wenn Du nach dem Download das "main.xml" der jeweiligen Skins in einem Editor (z. B. Notepad...) öffnest und die erste Zeile von <MJMS version="3.0"> in <MJMS version="2.0"> änderst. Es kann jedoch zu Darstellungsfehlern mit Deiner Version von MC kommen.

Ich würde Dir jedoch raten, einfach auf die aktuelle Version .289 umzusteigen - mache vorher vorsichtshalber ein Backup Deiner Library und exportiere ggf. vorhandene Playlists...
