I've been using MC for quite some time and I love it. I recently got an mp3 player and have had no luck getting it to install in MC. The mp3 player I have is the iPAQ PA-2.
I've used the plugin manager to install the plugin and it does say that the plugin was installed successfully but it does not show up i the pligin manager and MC does not see the player.
Has anyone seen anything like this?
I did poke around and download the various files used by the plugin manager. It downloads a file called hh_ipac.mjp which in turn downloads hh_ipac.zip. When I open this hh_ipac.zip file it includes HHInstall.exe and hh_rio300.dll. That seems strange to me why would MC use a RIO driver for an iPAQ player?
I'd appreciate nay help with this one.
Thanks,
Ben

Does it show up as a removable drive under CD, DVD & Handhelds (in the tree)?

No it doesn't show up at all.

ben_riga,
The PA-2 is not supported by the plugin. It may work if you try the following...
1) Remove the Plugin.
2) In MC go to Tools->Plugin Manager->Portable Drives->Configure and check the box that says 'Enable WMDM support'
After this, connect the player and see if it appears under CD, DVD and Handhelds.

Steve,
Could you be more specific as that doesn't make sense to me. The iPAQ is listed as a supported device on the handhelds page. Also, that page lists it as being 316KB but the files downloaded are much smaller. When I install the files they do not show up in MC anywhere. As a result, I suspect that the files related to the PA-2 handheld on the plug-ins page are corrupt in some way.
Thanks for all your help with this,
Ben

Ben,
That Rio 300 dll is the correct file. It is a long story, but you do have the right file and I know that the PA-2 does not work with it because I tested it when we had one here. The web page should be more specific.
Anyway, please try the suggestion I made regarding WMDM and hopefully that will work for you.

That plug-in page is very misleading. I bought that iPAQ knowing that it would integrate with MC. That's really disappointing.
I'll have a look at the WMDM suggestion you mentioned tonight.
Thanks for you help with this,
Ben
