Post by: KingSparta on October 27, 2003, 05:52:26 am
Lets Say I Have A MP3 On My Server How Can I Stream This From A WebSite Without Offering The Media File For Download.

Do I Need To Convert It To Something Else?

Is There A Way To Do This Free?

shoutcast is the way i guess.

and yes it is free.

take a look here. http://www.shoutcast.com

downside of this is that media center doesn't seem to be able to stream shoutcast stream?

also shoutcast can stream mp3 straight away.

another way of streaming mp3 i guess is using flash.

flash allows you to embed mp3 within it. the trial version of flash mx is free for 30 days.

i did use it before and it works just fine.  but might have to look for some code on how to control (play, pause, stop) the playback
