Title: Slimp3 Control
Post by: DCipher on October 27, 2003, 01:16:58 pm
I was wondering if anyone has considered making an output plug-in for the slimp3 device?  (www.slimdevices.com).

I use a HTPC for playback in my den, and would like to use the same interface (MC9) to play back music in my basement through my Slimp3.  I've seen docs for creating all types of plug-ins for Music Center, but can't find any info on creating an output plugin.  Is this documented anywhere?

Thanks!
Jeff

I've seen thios discussed a few times but with no luck so far.

I gave up and bought an exstreamer from (see www.barix.com (http://www.barix.com)) they gave me a beta copy of a "virtual" soundcard driver which streams the output from a Media Centre Zone onto the network. The stream is then played with the exstreamer (plugged into some form of actrive speaker or HiFi)

The MC zone can then be controlled with a handheld or an IR extender

I know this isn't exactly what you were asking for - but it worked to solve the same problem for me
