With the latest versions of MC 9.1, you don't need a plug-in.  Setup is under options/remote.  You can "teach" MC to talk with any remote.

The "Remote Control" setup says I need to download plugins and it lets me browse the page http://www.musicex.com/cgi-bin/downloads/mcplugins.pl?type=9 (http://www.musicex.com/cgi-bin/downloads/mcplugins.pl?type=9)

Based on this download plugin page, there seems to be only the following:

 X10 Mouse - 2.0.23

Svempa,
Which version of MC are you using? If you're running 9.1, it sounds like you downloaded the IRman plugin for version 9.0 which won't work with 9.1. You don't need to download anything, the IRman components come with the install package. It would probably be easiest to just reinstall MC, then go to Options/Remote and "train" your particular remote control as Jim suggested.
