Title: A device error occured
Post by: Insync on November 02, 2003, 05:31:51 pm
When finishing a burn, the following comes up right after the final song finishes writing.
A device error occured.  Error number is 1051  Error data is: KEY: 5 ASC: 21 ASCQ:2
I am using a LiteOn burner, MJ8.0 with the latest upgrade.  Nero is also on the system, not active at time of burning.  the burner is new.  Thought I would try and burn with MJ over NERO.

Thanks
Cris

Some versions of Nero have been known to cause problems with our burning.  Uninstalling it might tell you.

I do think it works with LiteOn Drives since my Old Computer with a LiteOn-40x Burner worked on MJ8

I have removed NERO and rebooted.  Recreated the playlist burn. The burn speed is only x40 redused by me from x48.  The LiteOn burner does show up no problem.  This time the burn got to the second to last song and came up with the similiar error.  A device error occured.  Error number is 1040 (different) KEY: 5 ASC: 64 (different) ASCQ: 0 (also different)

Well I tend to want to fill up most of the CD-R.  I was burning them with only about :35 seconds to spare.  I just did one that was only 3 songs and it burned fine. I guess I can't quite fill up the CD like I would like.

Thanks

well it does need some room to close the disk.

I do remember there was a problem with MJ8 with this at one point.

not that this helps but i think JohnT fixed that in MC9
