Lately I've noticed that .mkv files (Matroska) have become pretty popular.
However, I can't figure out how to make MC read them, even with all proper filters and decoder installed.
During the MC9 beta, I requested support for .ogm files, but was ignored -- I was able to get around this issue by renaming the .ogm extension to .avi and reburning all of my DVD-Rs.
This does not work for the .mkv container files.
While I do not use MC for video playback, I do use it's powerful cataloguing tools and would like to be able to keep track of all of my mkv files.
Any suggestions?

Is there a DirectShow filter for playing MKV files? If so, support should be easy. If not, it's a little harder.
Any more details would help.

I promise we heard. It never hurts to remind us once in a while, and see if you can get a "second" and "third" on requests.
Thanks for helping!
