Title: MC will not start

I cannot get Media Center 9.1X to start.  Have reinstalled from build 291 up to 305 program still will not start. This started with build 302.  It worked great at first, but then would not start the next day.

I get the message "Media Core has encountered a problem and needs to close".  Have searched the forum back to Oct 16 and only saw one similar problem, with no solution.

I've checked for virii, and have also tried Windows System Restore.

Hope someone can help.  Thanks.

Try uninstalling and choosing "remove registry entries".  Delete the MC program folder.

Try simplifying your system by eliminating any un-necessary programs.

Check for Windows Updates.  Run IE, do Tools/Windows Update.

Thanks Jim,

I wasn't deleting the program folder.  Never even checked, just assumed the uninstall did it.

A happy camper once again.
