Title: Won't import .wav
Post by: bgkorn on November 14, 2003, 10:03:16 pm
Installed 9.1.305 and started to import media. .MP3 files were all found and added to the Media Library. .WAV files are ignored.

The .WAV files show up in the import counter for "Files Scanned" but do not get imported.  I can play the .WAV files by manually using "File, Open Media File" and clicking on the .wav file...

Any ideas?

Ideas?  I thought I had one once, I was mistaken . . . it was only a headache.

Anyway, this is almost too obvious, but do you have your Options set to associate wav files with MC?  I have overlooked more obvious than this   ::)

Thanks for the suggestions, not there yet...

In the advanced section of "Import Media Files" I've got all types selected, including "WAV Audio (wav)" It seems that the import process is simply skipping the files, with results of 9472 files, 0 New files found, 0 failed to import.

When I view the files in the various  directories they all have the Media Center logo, so they are associated, but I would not think that association should have impacted importing them.

As to the source, ripped them uncompressed from my CD's, no link available.

must be something wrong with the wave files.

do they play in another app?

can you drag them into MC9 (not using the import option)

Call  it user error, fluke, whatever... the files are there now. I don't know why I could not see them at first, but they certainly are there now. No problems, and all seems to work great!

Thanks for the advice, unsure what changed, but thanks!

When this type of thing happens to me, usually having put on my glasses was the resolve.
