Hi. I'm getting an error when I check for updates within the program. The PackageInstaller comes back with:
"Failed to read Version Info File"
Is this something I should be concerned about or will it resolve itself when the next build comes out?
Thanks for any replies.
Here's my system info:

XP may work, but the orginal poster and I were not using XP. When I check for updates on a computer with XP it works fine, but on the computer for which I pasted the infomation, I really do still get the "Failed to read Version Info File" error message. I guess choice "A" would be to never get another update again, but I'd rather do choice "B" which would somehow reinstalling it (assuming that the reinstall would be fixed so the problem doesn't happen again). What is suggested?

I just manually upgraded to 9.1.308 and it still does the same thing. It looks like we're going to have to manually update the program for the time being.
Does anybody have an idea why this is occuring?

I too am getting a "failed to read version info file" on trying to do an update to a registered mediacenter install. Now on version 9.1.309. I know that is the latest but the package installer should not fail.
O/S windows 98se
cpu: amd athlon 1.0
dvd: pioneer 104
:(

looks like all the problems are with windows ME and 98, 98se

This may or may not be related, but I just remembered that after the last couple of manual installs of new program versions, the license agreement (which you have to click AGREE on to proceed) window was BLANK.
You could still click AGREE, but the agreement just wasn't there.
Just thought I'd share that additional bit of information.
Thanks.

Sounds like it's a problem with 98SE as well. I have the blank agreement and I get the "failed to update message"
