I, for one think that Bzero was a much cooler choice for the default Mega-Me skin than Blue Steel.
-
Could you post a link to at least screen shots of each skin? and/or to the thread to download them from?

I use a modified BlueSteel... a light background and orange Office2003-like highlights.

OK, where can I find "BZero"?

That took a little while to find.. (Needed it again anyway)

I voted for Blue Steel, but I am not totally sold on it. Although it does look pretty cool on my laptop using the negative skin effect (didn't have the same feel on my CRT though).
I wish one of the Skin gods at J River (or other guru's) would update the old Tekno or Optimal Skins from MJ 8.0. BTW, whatever happened to Moo?

Thanks. OMG, what an atrocity that thing is.

There should be two default skins to choose from on install. A Win9X-style skin and a WinXP-style skin.

Blue Steel with PixOS a close 2nd. I changed BS's vertical scrollbar background "dashes" to a light yellow. Looks good and doesn't clash with what I'm wearing.

I have been using PixOS recently... I should of course preface that by saying that I can only use it with the "greyscale" skin effect.
Similarly, I find the BlueSteel skin is improved in "greyscale" mode as well.
I find the controls on BlueSteel to be a little clunky looking and unrefined. In addition, they are too bright.
I can't wait to try the metal snow skin.

Here's a screenshot:

Nothing too fancy... and I'm not smart enough to get rid of the black border around the AW. Another thing I can't figure out is how to backshade the toolbar icons and menu names when they're selected - I don't think the MegaMe SDK allows this.
I wish it were possible to do a better replica of Office 2003 - I really like the aesthetics. I've been playing with a really great RSS feed aggregator called FeedDemon - the author did a great job of matching Office 2003. I'd wonder out loud what skinning engine he uses, but I don't see JRiver changing any time soon.

Nice Job Scott. Any chance you can zip it up and post it for download on the other board?
-
Scott - Just the main.xml would do it..

Thanks Scott ;)
Nice variation.
BTW, I 'voted' for Blue Steel as the default skin and I still feel so. :P

Thanks Scott. Nice.

I still like PixOS best of all - I don't like skins with dark backgrounds.
Blue Steel looks better with a light background. I have no idea how to get that though - the screenshots posted here look better than the "negative" effect gained through the Skin Effects menu. I guess I'm still something of a novice. :)

Simply replace the BlueSteel's "main.xml" with http://pages.sbcglobal.net/scottraymond/main.xml (http://pages.sbcglobal.net/scottraymond/main.xml).
