Hello,
In a recent search on the web for documents to help me prepare a lecture on the history of computing I found an interesting link : http://www.computerhistory.org/exhibits/highlights/ (http://www.computerhistory.org/exhibits/highlights/)
It's about an early printer IBM model 1403 (1964) attached to an IBM 1401 computer programmed in such a way that the sound of the printing head plays music.
Some mp3 samples recorded in 1970 are on the page that you can download and hear the printer playing "the blue danube", "raindrops keeps fallin on my head" and other samples.
I guess someone has to devise a printer plugin for MC so that we can replace directsound !!
A+
